Double Trouble Part 2; Stink Bogged

"Glad I learned being turned on powers me up.. Would have been spider food.." Yume sighed to herself picking up her flashlight. "Thanks mom for telling me that leg pressure trick.. Now then, where was I.. Right, tree data.." Yume took her notes on the tree she was planning on before the spider attacked. After getting the data, she was about to leave when another tree caught her eye. A tree far on the other side of the bog. It just looked perfect to study. Yume remembered the smelly muck here was much thicker then the other areas and dare not cross by foot. "I think I can jump to it.. Here goes!" With a great leap, Yume leaped across the bog right up to the tree itself, however.. "Made it-WHOA!" The ground was too slippery and soft around the tree causing her too lose her foot. Before Yume realized it, she'd had landed butt first into the smelly bog.

"Ooff.. That could have been better.. Oh man, I'm stuck again in this!" Yume dug her exposed legs into the smell bog and righted herself. She was dangerously deep but not far from the shoreline. "If I could just reach the shore.. Ugh, its so hard to move even with my hands free.." Yume swam as much as she could until she couldn't move no matter how hard she dug and grabbed. "Almost there! Come on! Just gotta..move.. UGH!" Yume dug, swam, and reached with all her might. Her body wouldn't move foward and freedom was in her reach. "Come on Etchina, you can do this.. I can almost reach it.." She said to herself, she dare not say her real name incase the person of the bogs was watching. All her efforts weren't working as she kept sinking deeper and deeper in the same spot from her thrashing until she couldn't move at all. The smell of the bog was starring to burr her vision. "I can't get my arms out anymore! I don't wanna die here! Please no!" Yume tired to get her arms back up but the thickness kept them down. The muck was now up to her nose, the smell of the bog suffocated her as much as the mud. She lifted her up. "Help! Bog person, you out there?! HEL-Mmpff" But the muck quickly rose above her mouth, silencing her. Yume held whatever breath left she had as watch the world become a brown, dark, muddy mess.. With a few blurbs and bloops.. Yume was gone from sight..

The bogs went quiet like she wasn't there anymore. Then, a few blurps came from the edge, then a hand, then a head. Yume lived! She chocked out the mud and water in her systems as she pulled herself onto shore. "*Coughchokecough* ..I made it.. The tree roots-*cough* they go.. *cough* They rope out under the mud.. And I found on-*Chokecoughcough* I found one.. Never in my life I thought I'd be happy to not only see a tree, but have one save me.. *cough* That's it.. Time to go home.."
